About us

Born from research. Built for love. Designed for safety.

We’re Britton and David—parents, partners, and the proud founders of Cooper’s Aqua Armor. Our journey started like many new parents’: with a lot of Googling, late-night talks, and a deep desire to give our son the best start possible.

When we found out we were expecting our first child, Cooper, we dove into everything—from car seats to cribs—but as summer approached, water safety became a surprising focus. Britton, who had never felt completely at home in the water, knew she wanted Cooper to grow up confident and comfortable swimming, just like his dad. That meant facing her own fears, learning to swim, and, of course, finding the right gear to keep him safe.

That’s when we discovered the eye-opening Color in Water research by ALIVE Solutions—a study that changed how we saw children’s swimwear forever. The majority of boys’ swimsuits we found were low-contrast blues and dull designs, easily lost in the shimmer of pool water. We knew we could do better—not just for our son, but for families everywhere.

Cooper’s Aqua Armor was born out of that moment.
Our mission? To blend bold, high-contrast design with purposeful function, helping your little ones stay stylish and visible—whether they’re splashing in the pool or playing at the beach.

We bring this mission to life through a unique blend of personal passion and professional perspective.
Britton is a Strategic Transformation Manager, constantly solving complex challenges and making systems work smarter. David spent 14 years in the U.S. Coast Guard (4 in the academy, 10 as an officer) and now serves as a Civilian Data Analyst Manager for the Coast Guard—so when it comes to safety, structure, and seeing what others might miss, it’s second nature.

We’re here to fill a gap we saw firsthand—because safety and style should never be separate. And because our kids deserve the best… even when they’re just learning how to float.

The Shellridge Family is the new face of the CAA Brand. Meet the Moopurtle, a mash-up of Coopers favorite animals, Highland Cow and Sea Turtle. As we go on this adventure they are going to make sure we are safe, have fun, and look out for everyone.
